GoalFlow update: Smarter dashboards, smoother goal navigation, improved comments, better news pages, stronger accessibility.

Summary

A summary of GoalFlow improvements since v0.3.5, including dashboard updates, better goal navigation, comments, accessibility, SEO, and stability improvements.

Since v0.3.5, GoalFlow has received a broad set of improvements across dashboard usability, goals management, comments, accessibility, SEO, and platform stability.

Dashboard improvements

We significantly improved the dashboard experience. Goal summaries are now calculated more consistently and aligned with the main Goals page, reducing confusion between overview counts and detailed lists. We also refined the loading flow by fetching the current user profile together with goals and improving API error handling.

Several dashboard sections were polished, including overdue goals, due-this-week items, shared goals, stalled goals, and recently commented goals. Mobile responsiveness was improved as well, with fixes for clipped lists, overlapping cards, spacing, and layout behavior on smaller screens.

Better goal navigation and state restoration

A major part of this cycle focused on making navigation around goals much smoother. We improved restoration of scroll position and visual focus when users return from comments or after goal actions such as status changes and updates. Filters, sorting, and context are now preserved more reliably, making it easier to continue where you left off.

We also added a shared goal overview builder to make dashboard and goals statistics use the same logic, which improves consistency across the product.

Goal lifecycle updates

Goals now support soft delete and restore flows with improved UX around follow-up navigation and focus handling. Auto-closed goals and notifications were also refined, including better default sorting and clearer notification behavior for automatically closed goals.

Comments and discussion experience

The goal comments area received multiple upgrades. Comments can now auto-refresh without reloading the page, helping discussions stay current in real time. We also improved layout, spacing, and responsiveness in the comments UI, along with cleaner navigation back to the related goal context.

In later updates, goal editing and deletion capabilities were added directly into the comments experience, supported by a refreshed header and better structured interactions.

Accessibility and dialog handling

A large series of updates improved focus restoration and dialog usability. Create, edit, delete, and purge flows now restore focus more reliably, including goal-specific fallback handling and better timing around transitions. These changes help keyboard and assistive technology users maintain context during interactions.

News, SEO, and content delivery

We expanded the static news and SEO pipeline. This includes paginated static news index pages, improved sitemap handling, better article URL normalization, cleaner last modified formatting, and more accurate filtering of article content in generated pages. The login page also now has unique SEO metadata rather than inheriting homepage metadata.

We also improved Nginx routing and static handling to better support SPA refreshes while returning real 404s for unknown routes where appropriate.

Admin and analytics

The admin area now includes expanded user analytics and improvements to the support inbox layout. These changes make it easier to review user activity and manage support content more effectively.

Smaller fixes and quality improvements

This release line also includes many smaller fixes across date parsing, time handling, sorting behavior, image responsiveness, code cleanup, route protection, and frontend reliability. Together, these changes make the application more stable and predictable across a wider range of workflows.

Overall, the updates since v0.3.5 focused on making GoalFlow feel more consistent, more resilient, and easier to use across desktop and mobile.
